GUY HENLEY and THE TEAM
Guy Henley started racing in 1997. He started off by riding in the 250cc class and then in 1999 he moved onto the open class on a Kawasaki KX500.
The last race Guy raced competitively was the Ventersdorp 400 Race, even though he still races in the GXCC series he is only doing it for fun.
Guy has also been involved in sponsoring teams since 2006 when he was still riding for Kawasaki. After he stopped racing competitively at the end of 2012 he put a team together in 2014 with KTM. In 2015 he signed a deal with Yamaha South Africa.
In 2016 he managed to sign highly talented riders such as Neville Brads and David Goosen. Tintswalo property group was then also involved for 2 years and the team was lucky enough to bring home two National Championships in 2017 with David Goosen in the MX2 and Tristan Purdon in the MX1 class.
In 2018 Out of Africa/ Yamaha Racing has 3 current National Champion riders: David Goosen, Triston Purdon and Ian Topliss. However, the team also have very talented up and coming Youth riders: Miguel De Waal, Hayden Tulley, Garrick Henley, James Thompson and Aiden Henley.
In total the Out of Africa Racing team consists of 8 amazingly talented riders. The team would never be able to achieve al they have achieved without the long time standing sponsors:
- Adventure Sport
- Bike Wise
- Yamaha South Africa
- Out of Africa Developments
The team is looking forward to the exciting future where they will continue to chase Championships at a National Level and to grow in the number of championships that the team already has and creating more champions for the future.
Guy also races in the X country car division in his spare time. He currently has a CR which was developed by Century Racing a while ago. They have a CR currently in production. Guy has some fantastic long-term sponsor that supports him throughout his races.
